Laurie Berkner Concert at Strathmore

March 30, 2008

Today Marin, Mommy and Daddy went to see Laurie Berkner in concert. As we were leaving the house, Marin commented, "this is what it was like before Riley was born."
It was a ton of fun. Below are lots of pics of the concert. We had great seats, 8th row, dead center. As you will see below, those were still not good enough for Marin.
Sorry they are a little dark, the concert hall was not lit well. This was our first time at Strathmore Hall since they opened it a few years ago, it was amazing inside.
There is a long video of highlights at the end of this entry.

March 29, 2008
The weather was great outside. Marin took her new bike out for a ride. Riley tried her new swing that is hanging from a tree in the front of the house. Later, Marin was drawing with chalk on the driveway, so Riely tried, but she ate the chalk too much.

Marin was the Shabbat girl at school today and mommy and daddy came to class to celebrate Shabbat. Mommy read "Little Pea" to the class. Then the blessing for the candles, wine and challah were said. This was followed by a b-day celebration with singing and donuts.

Museum of Natural History with friends and Flat Star

March 23, 2008

Today we went to the national Museum of Natural History to see a new exhibit with live butterflies. We brought Flat Star along with us to enjoy the beautiful day in DC.

First Marin and Flat Star stopped by the EPA to see if they knew what was going on with global warming and the increasing price of gas. To bad they were closed, it was Easter.

Next, they made their way to the Museum, it was not very crowded, again, because it was Easter.
The first stop was to visit Dumb Dumb, as every kid at the museum was calling him, thanks to Ben Stiller and Night at the Museum, but ironically it is a statue from Easter Island.

Inside the butterfly exhibit, a butterfly landed on Hunter's head.
After a little while, the girls started to want to leave.
The room was 80 degrees and kept at 80 percent humidity, just how the butterflies like it.
They said that butterflies were masters of disguise.
Here Flat Star tries to hide from Marin.

We went to Temple this evening to hear the Magillah reading and to celebrate in our festive costumes. Marin went as a Princess and Riley went as Minnie Mouse.
