Flat Stanley make the rounds in the Washington DC

Where else is there to start when visiting DC than the White House. No one was home at the time, but Stanley figured he would hang around until someone showed up. The first person to meet him was Marin. When he left the White House. he figured he would try to get someones attention in DC, so he tried other agencies.

Stanley figured he would try with Marin to clean up the environement and do something about global warming, but again, no one was at the EPA to talk with him so he moved on.

Next stop, the IRS. Even though it is only January, Stanley figured while he was in town, he would drop off his taxes directly to the IRS, but like Hunter and Fara found out when they first moved here, you can't drop your taxes off at the IRS, you have to mail them, just like Flat Stanley.

Last stop on this trip, the DOJ. Stanley wanted to go to the Supreme court, but it was a little chilly, and he was starting to give paper cuts, so we stopped at the DOJ instead. Again, no one was there, but finally Stanely figured out why, it was the weekend,

Flat Stanley at the National Museum of Natural History

This weekend, while spending the day in the District, Marin and Riley showed Flat Stanley around the Musuem of Natural History at the Smithsonian. They all had a great time.

Flat Stanley almost is eaten by a triceratops!!

Flat Stanley can not figure out what those strips on that animals legs are. Also, Marin wanted to know if its knees are backwards?

Flat Stanley wearing traditional clothing a young boy in India would wear.

Marin checks out how a giraffe would drink water.

Marin, RIley and Stanley on Riley's Toys

Marin decided to check out Riley's new surfboard tummy toy, so that got Stanley thinking he should also try out Riley's toys, but not until after he watched Riley use some of them first.

Flat Stanley Has Arrived

Flat Stanley arrived in Maryland yesterday in a very large envelope. He was traveling how he always does, first class. Marin and Riley were extremely excited to meet Flat Stanley. The showed him around the house and showed him snow for the first time. It was a little too cold for him, he didn't want to get waterlogged.

This morning, Stanley went with Marin to school. She goes to nursery at the JCC of Greater Washington in Rockville, Maryland. There, Marin showed him the school and then introduced him to the Flat Stanley Project that a class in her school is doing.

Look for more pictures to come as Stanley spends the next week or two with our family.
